by Dr. W.A. Evans including PIONEER TIMES IN MONROE COUNTY by W.B.
Wilkes and WHO’S WHO IN MONROE COUNTY CEMETERIES by Dr. W.A. Evans
is an invaluable source of information for genealogy research into early
families of northeast Mississippi. The articles, which originally appeared
in the Aberdeen Examiner, 1936 – 1938, were republished by Mother Monroe
Publishing Company in 1979. Many early Monroe County, Mississippi families
later removed into Itawamba County, after its formation in 1836, therefore
the reader will recognize many early Itawamba pioneer names in this excellent
work.
